Brenda Herrod


Brenda Lee Herrod is board certified women's health nurse practitioner who is passionate to help women become the best versions of themselves and find options for relief for their health struggles. She specializes in women's primary care of all ages, and loves to work with perimenopausal and menopausal age, hormones, aesthetics and health coaching for a healthy lifestyle.  Exploring the root cause of disease and illness is important instead of just treating symptoms.  She is passionate about holistic care, disease prevention, individualized care and finding the WHY reason.  


She has been in health care for 30 years, starting as a Certified Nursing Assistant in high school in her hometown of Tabor, Iowa.  Brenda attended the University of Nebraska Medical Center for her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing in 1993 and her Master of Science in Nursing and nurse practitioner in 2009.  She is studying functional medicine at the School of Applied Functional Medicine.  Brenda loves nursing, fitness, nutrition, educating and appreciates the difference you can make to others through nursing.  She most recently worked in weight management leading a successful employee health program at Methodist Health System for the almost 5 years and has experience in obstetric and women's health, aesthetics and was an OB/GYN nursing instructor at a Northeast Community College in Norfolk, Nebraska for 11 years, and has done mother - baby and home care and hospice nursing too.  Brenda is an NGA and IPE Figure Pro athlete and loves competing as well as judging natural bodybuilding shows too.  She is a AFAA certified personal trainer and is certified in Precision Nutrition, Level 1.  She has worked as a personal trainer and fitness instructor for 15 years and has her own wellness company,  Brenda Lee Wellness, LLC.  She help women become stronger, more fit and change their body composition. 


She believes in getting whole foods nutrition, moving your body, doing resistance training, enjoying nature, getting sunlight, sleep, and minimizing stress is very important to our overall health.  Her focus is on having a positive mindset, exploring metabolic health and building muscle for quality of life and longevity.  Age is just a number and young is an attitude!!  


Brenda has been happily married for 29 years and has two grown children, a daughter and a son as well as two white English Labrador pups that she adores.  She loves reading, weight training, biking, walking, kayaking and paddle boarding with her husband as well as being outside hiking in nature.  Brenda enjoys blogging, doing podcasts and speaking events, inspiring others and being a positive role model by living the healthy lifestyle.  It's the best feeling in the world to inspire others and help them live their best life!
