LEARN HOW ART WORKS:
ART works directly to reprogram the way in which distressing memories and images are stored in the brain so that they no longer trigger physical and emotional reactions. ART accomplishes this through the use of rapid eye movements similar to eye movements that occur during dreaming.
NEUROSTAR TMS:
TMS is Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation therapy, a non-drug treatment for major depression. TMS uses focused magnetic pulses, similar to an MRI, to reignite dormant synapses in the brain and help your brain function the way it was meant to.
It is not a drug, “shock” therapy, or surgery. It is a safe, effective treatment for MDD without the side effects of medication.

Ketamine has been used safely since the 1960’s and has been on the World Health Organization’s Essential Medicines list since 1985. Ketamine has been used for mental health symptom relief for well over a decade and Esketamine has recently been approved by the FDA for treatment resistant depression. Remedy Health offers Ketamine given via Injection in the arm Intramuscular (IM) or Intravenous (IV). Ketamine administered intramuscularly and intravenous is currently approved by the FDA for “off label” use of resistant depression. Ketamine has shown in research to reduce symptoms in approximately 70 to 80% of clients. Ketamine therapy is meant to be used in conjunction with therapy and integration. A client’s mind set and the setting a client receives treatment at, are also an important component.
Ketamine shows positive results in research for patients with resistant mental health symptoms, “Resistant” is defined as failing to have symptom relief from two or more trials of a selective serotonin re-uptake inhibits (SSRI) or serotonin-norepinephrine re-uptake inhibitors (SNRI’s)
The above medications target monoamine neurotransmitters (serotonin, dopamine and norephinephrine) whereas Ketamine targets a different neurotransmitter which binds to N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor which results in the release of Glutamate (at high doses Glutamine is blocked making it an effective anesthetic). Glutamate is the most abundant neurotransmitter and is associated with a wide variety of brain activity, including learning and memory. Additionally, Glutamine has a neurotrophic effect which is involved in nerve growth. In people with chronic stress and depression you can actually see shrinkage of the neurons as well as brain shrinkage on imaging. Post Ketamine you can see regrowth of these neuron branches. Moreover, neuroplasticity is seen which allows for more flexibility and pliability in thought patterns which helps decrease the rigid behaviors people develop. This allows behavioral changes to occur much easier during the weeks following treatment.
Additionally, Ketamine decreases stimuli in a part of the brain that focuses on negative emotions. Excessive activity in this area of the brain correlates with increased depression symptoms. Clients may experience a sense of calmness and increased ability to function, affects can vary. Relief of symptoms can be noticed in hours to days post Ketamine session.
